Individual Therapy

Trauma is an experience of catastrophic aloneness—profound disconnection in a moment when we needed support to stay connected to our wholeness. For pieces of ourselves that stayed behind to keep trauma quarantined in the brain, this aloneness and fragmentation can seem unending. But the truth is that our souls are designed to heal and be whole, no matter what happens to us, and we are designed to do this healing and whol-ing in authentic relationship with others.

Through attunement with a loving other, we experience longed-for reparative experiences of contact and care, clear traumatic responses from the brain and body, and delight in the freedom of being more fully alive and fully ourselves.

Relationship Therapy

Relationships, like the people in them, are designed to change and grow over time. We learn about and protect other’s tender spots, recognize and rely on each other’s strengths, and accept ourselves as we are. Yet often the places where relationships are being called to grow are hardest to navigate, leading, ironically, to stuckness.

If you’re noticing patterns of avoiding conflict or escalating it in an attempt to maintain connection in your relationship, relationship counseling can offer a space to understand what is happening beneath these patterns and use what were once obstacles as opportunities to deepen into greater intimacy and strengthen the connection between you.
